GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — In Thursday’s Greenfield Zoning Board of Appeals meeting the board voted to continue the public hearing that was opened for the Viridi Wireless special permit application to construct a 170 feet tall monopole with antennas at 112 Newton Street.

Board members raised the issue of having an independent review of the pole’s plan as a neighbor’s group opposed to the project has allegedly raised concerns about the structural soundness of the pole. The applicant’s attorney, Michael Rosen shared that an independent review by a civil engineer firm had been completed and the designer of the pole had requested it.

At the upcoming December 12th ZBA meeting, there will be presentations from the applicant and the neighbor’s group. Four abutters to the project were present at Thursday’s meeting in City Hall and requested the project application.
