(Montague, MA) — If you plan on spending time at a Montague park this summer, remember to take your trash with you. The town has removed trash cans from Montague parks as the Recreation Department converts to a “carry in, carry out policy,” which officials say has proved effective in other communities looking to reduce public littering. The policy is also expected to prevent people from dumping household trash in public parks, which has become a problem recently in Montague.
