(Montague, MA) — A Montague man has been arraigned on multiple charges related to a double stabbing in that town Friday night.
Elijah Michonski, 18, of Montague was arraigned remotely in Greenfield District Court on murder and related charges in connection with the July 3 stabbing incident on Randall Road in Montague. One victim, Nicholas Weir, 41, died as a result of his injuries. The second victim, Teresa Weir, 39, remains hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Michonski is Teresa Weir’s nephew.
Michonski, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include one count murder, two counts aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon–a knife, two counts armed assault with intent to murder, two counts home invasion, one count breaking and entering in daytime with intent to commit a felony and one count motor vehicle larceny. He was ordered held without bail. He will return to court on August 25, 2020, for a pretrial conference.
Michonski is alleged to have forced his way into the Weirs’ residence last Friday evening, after which he stabbed the victims with two knives. He allegedly then stole their car and fled from the scene, but was apprehended in Erving a short while later.
