(Montague, MA) Montague’s March 14th Special Town Meeting will include a vote to remove the Montague Police Department from Civil Service, a unit within the state’s Human Resources division, which many agencies view to be outdated, especially when it comes to the recruiting and hiring process. Also to be included on the Town Meeting warrant will be a vote on appropriating approximately $152,000 to fund the Airport operations after the expected FY24 revenue shortfall. A public information session will be held prior to the Special Town Meeting on Thursday, March 7th at 6 p.m. via Zoom to discuss the Airport budget. The full Special Town Meeting Warrant is expected to be posted Tuesday, February 27th.
