(Hatfield, MA) On January 11th, just after midnight Massachusetts State Police arrested James Watkins, 31 years old, of Lyndonville, Vermont. Troopers Dalton Boglisch and Edward Brunto were patrolling when they found Watkins’ vehicle to have expired license plates.
During the traffic stop, they discovered Watkins did not possess a driver’s license and arrested him. Upon inventorying the vehicle, they found 25 wax baggies containing what they suspected to be heroin, at which point the inventory became a search and unveiled a .22 caliber revolver, for which Watkins did not possess a license.
Watkins’ charges include:
1. Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle;
2. Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle;
3. License Plate Violation;
4. Cracked Windshield;
5. Possession of a Class A Drug;
6. Illegal Possession of a Firearm; and
7. Improper Storage of a Firearm.
His bail is set at $10,000 and he will be arraigned at the Northampton District Court.
