The campaign for Congressman Richie Neal responded to allegations that it played a role in the recent reporting of Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse’s relationship with students at UMass. Last week the College Democrats of Massachusetts along with its chapters at UMass and Amherst College dropped its support for Morse, claiming that he used his position for romantic or sexual gain with students at the Amherst campus. The Neal campaign stated that the College Democrats came forward independently. Morse is Neal’s opponent in the Democratic Primary on September 1st.
