HAWLEY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Town of Hawley declared a state of emergency Tuesday morning and town offices, churches, and other organizations in west county opened their doors as warming centers. Emergency responders went door to door in areas with widespread power outages for welfare checks. As of 4:30 this morning, only 1,300 are still without power in Massachusetts and as of 7:30 a.m. only 112 electric customers are without power, bringing almost all back online according to the MEMA power outage map.
