ATHOL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Nearly seven miles of the Millers River in Athol has been made accessible for recreation with the opening of a new kayak and canoe launch with shore fishing and a parking lot. The project was led by Department of Fish and Game and cost approximately $385,000.
The new boat launch will connect Royalston to Athol and then onto Orange’s Blue Trail section. State and local officials came together for a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening of the launch area.
