BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A second lawsuit has been filed against the new gun law in Massachusetts which Governor Healey signed an emergency preamble to immediately enact last month.
The new gun law expands the “red flag” law, bans firearms in some public spaces, takes aim at untraceable ghost guns, and now a gun store owner in Bellingham has filed a complaint alleging the change in the assault rifle definition in the new law is violating the Second Amendment.
The first lawsuit was brought forth by the Gun Owners’ Action League citing “impossible” licensing requirements in the new law. The Gun Owners’ Action League also announced Tuesday that they gathered enough signatures to bring their petition against the law to local officials.
