NORTHFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Northfield residents will be voting on 28 articles at tonight’s Annual Town Meeting, to be held at 7 p.m. There will be votes on two moratoriums, the first on Battery Storage Systems brought forward by the Planning Board to give the town time to consider the Zoning Bylaw and the second, a citizen’s petition to have a temporary moratorium on large scale solar. Also on the meeting warrant is an article, which if approved, would allow the Selectboard to petition the state to allow the current fire chief, Floyd Dunnell III, to remain chief until August 13, 2025 when he will be 72 years old.
