(Greenfield, MA) The City of Greenfield intends to display billboards related to domestic violence starting September 28. The campaign is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.

“Supporting victims of domestic violence in our community is incredibly important- I”m hopeful this awareness campaign will help during a time when isolation and stress can make things worse and our relationships more tenuous,” said Mayor Roxann Wedegartner.

A Task Force on Domestic Violence developed the campaign through a survey of the residents of Greenfield to learn more about community attitudes towards domestic violence.

“We intend to utilize the findings to inform task force outreach and education efforts going forward,” said Task Force Chair Mary Kociela.

The billboards will be displayed on the billboard sign near CVS on Federal Street and in Spanish on Route 5 near Deerfield Street throughout the month of October.Victims of abuse can call NELCWIT at (413) 772-0806.
