Officials speak out against proposed winter utility rate increases

BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Governor Healey and Senator Jo Comerford have both publicly spoken out against potential rate increases for Eversource and National Grid this winter.

Eversource is proposing an up to 13% increase in bills while National Grid is looking at increasing gas prices without increasing delivery fees.

The Department of Public Utilities has been directed by the Governor to closely inspect proposed rate hikes prior to approving any.
