Effective immediately, Orange has joined many towns across the country who have chosen to close their public parks until the state of emergency has been lifted and the threat of Covid-19 is no longer an issue. Sighting social distancing as an important measure in slowing the spread of Covid-19, the Orange Board of Health gave no date for the reopening aside from the lifting of the state of emergency.
“The best way to slow the spread of the viral infectious disease is to limit contact with other individuals through social distancing,” the Board wrote in a recent press release. The Board went on to explain that public parks can be a vector for infection in the community. Any questions regarding the closure can be directed to the Board of Health at 978-544-1107.
