SHELBURNE FALLS, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The three-alarm house fire on Main Street in Shelburne Falls Monday night started around the metal chimney between the first and second floors, according to the State Fire Marshal unit and Shelburne Falls Fire Chief Herbet Guyette.

Chief Guyette also said in the statement that working smoke alarms in the home contributed to the owner safely escaping the building. She was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

The home has been deemed uninhabitable until repairs may be made.
