TURNERS FALLS, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) —
Turners Falls High School and Great Falls Middle School will not have its School Resource Officer, at least temporarily.
Officer Dan Miner is needed full-time for the police force. Gill-Montague Superintendent Brian Beck explained the situation at Tuesday night’s School Committee meeting.
“Montague Police Chief Christopher Williams and I met and they are experiencing extreme staffing pressure,” said Beck. “They have at least three full-time officers who are out and not able to fill the job.”
So as of February 24th, Miner will transition to a full-time patrolman position, although he will remain in contact with and visit the high school and middle school.
