The average positive test rate is down to three percent today said Governor Charlie Baker during the early afternoon press conference. Baker said the numbers show continued incremental positive progress.
“Thanks to everyone’s creativity and commitment we are reopening and continuing the fight the against the virus at the same time,” said Baker.
Baker asked the public to continue to observe social distancing measures and wear masks in public so the downward trend can continue. Baker also announced popup testing sites around Massachusetts on June 17 and June 18. He is encouraging anyone who has attended a large gathering within the last two weeks to visit one of these free testing sites.
“If you’re healthy and feeling fine, you should consider getting tested anyway,” said Baker. Baker noted that preventing the spread of COVID-19 is also about protecting others who are more vulnerable to illness.
