(Leyden, MA) Some Leyden residents were evacuated Thursday evening when a 250 pound propane tank line was severed. Colrain and Leyden Fire Departments and Bernardston Police responded to Bell Road in Leyden when reports of a tree down on a propane tank came in. Arriving crews found an active propane leak and a significant propane odor. Bernardston Police assisted with evacuation of the nearby occupants while Osterman Propane was able to shut off the propane leak without any further incidents.
