ROWE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A house in Rowe burned to the ground yesterday afternoon after an excavator hit a propane tank, causing a major explosion.
Crews were called to scene at 32 Davenport Branch Road shortly after 1:00 p.m. A total of 42 firefighters from about 18 area departments battled to save the home, but their efforts were hindered by the fact the nearest water source was about five miles away.
The home was deemed a total loss. No injuries were reported.
