(Greenfield, MA) The Greenfield Fire Department stopped an out of control brush fire from spreading into the nearby woodlands on Monday. The fire was started by a resident who had obtained a permit and kept a garden hose ready, but when it got out of hand, they immediately called 911. The quick action of the resident and the rapid response of the firefighters kept the fire to minimal damage.
The Greenfield Fire Department also responded to multiple un-permitted fires Tuesday and the National Weather Service has issued another Red Flag Fire Weather Warning for Wednesday, April 12th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for all of Massachusetts, outside of Nantucket.
