(South Deerfield, MA) A radiator leak at the South County Senior Center in South Deerfield has caught the attention of town officials. The leak, located in the center’s kitchen, is close to the building’s vault which holds all the town’s historical records. According to retired historian Peter Thomas, South Deerfield may have more historical records than any town in Massachusetts. Some are from the 17th century. Discussions have taken place to have the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association store the documents.
