GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Real Pickles, a worker-owned co-operative specializing in organic, fermented foods, has announced that it has purchased the building it has called home since 2013.
The building, located at 311 Wells Street in Greenfield, will now be owned and operated by the
worker-owners of Real Pickles. It will also continue to house another worker-owned co-operative, PV Squared, a solar design and installation company.
“As worker-owners, we’re deeply invested in the success of our business and our community,”
said Kate Hunter, Sales & Marketing Manager and member of Real Pickles Co-operative.
“Owning our building allows us to deepen our roots in Greenfield and exemplify how co-operative values can create lasting benefits for everyone.”
“Worker co-operatives are about more than just profit—they’re about people,” said Kate Carter,
PV Squared Worker Owner and Member of Management. “By working together as tenants and
as co-operatives, we’re creating a resilient, values-based economy that prioritizes collaboration
and sustainability.”
