MONTAGUE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Red Fire Farm in Granby suffered a devastating fire back in February, a blaze that destroyed the farm store and historical barn.
Now, the farm has announced that four donated structures will arrive and be installed on Friday. The structures will comprise the framework for a makeshift farm store that will open later this spring. Co-owner Sarah Voiland says there has been a lot work going on behind the scenes, and the community has stepped up as well.
“We really feel like we have the support of the local community and that people care so much about the food we grow, and it’s important to keep that going,” said Voiland. “Our farm is not going to look the same at all, but it is coming together.”
The online fundraiser has reached $130,885 towards the goal of $200,000, to go towards grant matches for building a new facility in the next year.
Red Fire Farm also runs a stand in Montague.
