(Greenfield, MA) – You may soon be able to once again use your own reusable cup when buying coffee at Greenfield’s Cumberland Farms. The Greenfield Board of Health has voted to allow Cumberland’s to encourage customers to bring their own coffee cups, which has been discouraged by health advocates since the advent of COVID 19. The board made the recommendation despite the objection of the city’s health director and health inspector. The board also voted to grant the store a waiver to allow the use of styrofoam cups through March 15th. The use of styrofoam is not allowed under the city’s plastic ban ordinance. Both orders are intended to alleviate what store representatives say is a supply chain issue getting new shipments of paper coffee cubs to the Greenfield store.
