(Colrain, MA) Saturday, September 10th Colrain is bringing back their annual Fix-It Day for a third year after a break during the pandemic. Volunteers will be available to talk to people who bring in items in need of repair and make small repairs for them free of charge, although donations to the library will be accepted.

Nancy Rich Turkle, Chair of the Griswold Memorial Board of Trustees, has described this event as one of the ways the library acts as a community hub, not just for socialization purposes, which are much needed after the pandemic, but also as a way for the community to come together to educate and learn from each other. This fix-it event is reviving the art of repair in a time where many household items are built for obsoletion and is seeing more young people joining the volunteer team as they learn and care about repairing.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and broken items such as small appliances, bicycles, lamps, clothing, tools, weed wackers, and the like. Small motor questions can be brought to discuss with Ben Eastman.
