NORTHAMPTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Sanctuary cities and states are set to lose federal funding according to an announcement from the Trump administration was made months after a list of sanctuary cities was released by the Department of Justice, accusing them of failing to enforce federal immigration laws. Funding cuts are set to take effect February 1st, including Northampton and Amherst.
