SOUTH DEERFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Reports of vehicles off the road on Interstate 91 came in around 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning during the sleet storm. While crews were on scene, multiple other vehicles went off the road.
Shortly after at 11:30 a.m., firefighters responding to downed tree reports found one to be on fire on Stillwater Road in South Deerfield. Police units and Eversource crews were also on scene working to make repairs and reopen the road.
Also on Saturday, a driver was trapped in a vehicle under a downed tree and power lines on Orange Road (Route 78) in Wendell. Wendell Police and Fire crews responded to the scene to rescue the driver, who was not injured.
