(Western MA) A new scam is circulating around the commonwealth. Police are warning about a text message that appears to warn about potential contact with a COVID positive individual. The text includes a link, and asks people to click on the link for more information. Police are warning residents to not click on the link. The Federal Trade Commissions warns against responding to texts, emails, or calls about checks from the government, online offers for vaccine and home test kits, robocalls, emails claiming to be CDC or WHO, and recommends doing research before making a donation.
