(Athol, MA) The Athol Police Department is dealing with a scam that targets their department. Scammers are making it look like the Athol Police Department is calling, then ask the victim to make large bank account withdrawals or buy an iTunes gift card. The Athol Police Department said that no one from their department, officers or employees or staff, will call asking anyone to make bank withdrawals or purchase an iTunes gift card. Anyone who receives such a call should hang up and not give out any information.
