BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities issued a statement to Section 8 voucher holders warning of potential rent increases and restricted tenant policies due to rising costs and decreased federal funding.
Policies including utility allowances, extra grace periods, and income deductions will come to an end in May, when voucher holders’ have their next rent certification.
With the current cost of living crisis, it is anticipated there will be increases in homelessness, food pantry patrons, and other social services.
