(Florence, MA) Senator Jo Comerford visited the Seven Sisters Midwifery & Community Birth Center with the Northeast Regional Director for the federal Department of Health and Human Services Everett Handford and the Women’s Health lead from the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, Tina Sang. Senator Comerford filed legislation to update the regulations governing licensed birth centers to align with national standards, which was recently backed by the Department of Public Health.
