(Greenfield, MA) Several Greenfield residents spoke at the Greenfield City Council meeting on Wednesday night objecting to the Appointments and Ordinances Committee’s vote last month to not recommend any changes to the city charter in reference to the referendum process. At issue is the how many residents’ signatures are required to submit a citizen’s initiative petition. Some see the current number, 10% of the voters voting in the most recent biennial city election as being too high.
