(Turners Falls, MA) The Turners Falls shooting suspect, Gil Viera of Florida, was arrested following a traffic stop in Holyoke and was arraigned on 11 charges Wednesday. The incident left a 30 year old Athol resident with non life threatening injuries. The Assistant District Attornney requested Viera be held without bail for 120 days and then he could be released on a $100,000 cash bail. The pretrial conference is scheduled for September 26th.

Update: An arrest has been made following a reported shooting that left one person with non-life threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon in the Patch area of Turners Falls, the area between the Cumberland Farms on Montague City Road and the Connecticut River. The suspected shooter fled on foot into the wooded area and a search ensued by local law enforcement agencies and the Massachusetts State Police, utilizing K9 units and an Air Wing. The suspect was taken into custody at approximately 9 p.m. following a traffic stop on I-91 in Springfield.
