(undated) — Massachusetts lawmakers are considering providing “incentives” to get currently unemployed residents back into the workforce. The State House News Service reports that some reps and senators remain concerned about the number of jobs which are in danger of going unfilled as the economy reopens post-COVID 19. Many unemployed have been hesitant to go back to work and forgo the unemployment benefits that increased greatly during the pandemic. The situation has led some New England states, like Connecticut, to offer cash bonuses to people who take jobs and get off the unemployment rolls. No such proposal has been made in Massachusetts as yet.
