(Orange, MA) Video in of skydiver falling: Video from Wendy S. Johnson

A skydiver from Jumptown Skydiving was transported by helicopter with non-life threatening injuries to a hospital last night after an entanglement with both his main and reserve parachutes that resulted in a hard landing on a building in the Industrial Park in Orange.

When Orange Fire Rescue EMS got the call Sunday evening around 7 p.m. that the skydiver was injured, the patient was also conscious and alert. Jumptown Skydiving had their trained staff EMTs on scene with the diver when Orange Fire Rescue arrived. The medical helicopter was called to Orange Airport due to the mechanism of injuries and extended extrication time. The patient was flown to UMass by the UMass Memorial Lifeflight.

Orange Fire Rescue EMS was assisted by the Orange Police Department and the Jumptown Skydiving staff. Orange Fire Rescue trains yearly with Jumptown and reports that Jumptown runs a very safe operation with few emergencies.
