Economic decline will be an unavoidable consequence of the fight against COVID-19 in Massachusetts, and many local businesses are coming up with creative ways to stay on top. Creative business ideas are the way to go, and many businesses have already rolled out creative ways to curb loss. Mill Valley Milk Store, in Hadley, MA, is selling gift certificates to many local restaurants like Farm Table in Bernardston, and Local Burger and High Brow in Northampton. Antonio’s II in Bernardston has implemented a no contact delivery system, and Mesa Verde in Greenfield remains open for takeout only.

In Franklin County, small businesses can use the Franklin County Community Development Corporation, a non-profit dedicated to “providing comprehensive business development education, access to capital, commercial office and manufacturing space plus home of the Western Massachusetts Food Processing Center.” Please see the FCCDC website, linked above, for more details.

Information for small businesses on the State level can be located on the Mass.gov website. At the top, you can link to Governor Baker’s latest updates on what Massachusetts is doing to fight COVID-19.
