GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office reports that elders in our area are still receiving calls and emails related to social security scams.
Callers might say to move money into a safe account, withdraw cash and deposit it at another ATM, or to withdraw cash that will be picked up from their home.
The DA’s office advises you to not give out your Social Security number or make payments to protect it.
