(Deerfield, MA) — The future of the South County Senior Center building in South Deerfield is somewhat unclear. Officials are planning to conduct an environmental assessment on the property, which has been closed since the advent of the COVID pandemic last year. The building’s second floor is unusable and there is mold in the basement. Senior center and town officials are considering a variety of options, which include repairing the current building, finding a new senior center location, or possibly adding a new senior center into a larger plan for a new Deerfield library.
