(undated) — Some potentially good news for Massachusetts cities and towns. The State House News Service reports that Governor Baker and the House and Senate leadership have committed to maintain local aid and school aid for fiscal 2021 at last year’s levels, despite a growing budget deficit related largely to COVID 19. The leadership also has agreed to provide an additional $107 million in school aid to help cover added costs related to the pandemic.
A new state budget is not expected until October at the earliest.
