(undated) — This year’s MCAS exam results apparently will not be used against underperforming school districts. The State House News Service reports that State Education Commissioner Jeff Riley plans to waive accountability determinations for districts and schools based on this year’s MCAS results. Some districts have been concerned that lower than expected MCAS scores during the pandemic could lead to sanctions by the state, which could include possible funding reductions and being classified as “underperforming.”
