(Greenfield, MA) A structure fire has caused the closure of Bernardston Road in Greenfield from Route 2 to Lover’s Lane. The fire broke out this afternoon in the basement of a home on Bernardston Road and sent two Greenfield firefighters to the hospital with what are said to be minor injuries. The occupants of the house were able to escape safely. Crews from Turners Falls and South Deerfield assisted at the scene. There is no word yet as to what caused that fire.
