(Sunderland, MA) — Sunderland town officials say they want to take a closer look at school budgets in the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic. The Sunderland Selectboard has voted to request budget updates from the Sunderland, Frontier and Franklin Tech school committees, including projections for how spending may be affected by projected state budget cuts during the fiscal year which begins July first. State officials are projecting a budget deficit which could go as high as $5 billion heading into fiscal 2021.
