(Sunderland, MA)  — It looks like the Sunderland Selectboard will be working for free next year. The board voted 3-0 Monday night to zero out the fiscal 2021 line item which contained the board’s annual $2,900-plus per member stipends. Selectboard member Thomas Fydenkevez says given the town’s current financial situation, there was “no choice” but to forgo the stipends. Board members expressed optimism that mid-year state aid cuts may not hamper the town this year, but that will not likely be the case next year.
