HOLYOKE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The shooting in the Holyoke Mall Friday evening took place after the suspect was reported by mall security for alleged shoplifting.
According to Holyoke Police, when Holyoke officers stationed at the mall approached the suspect in the area of Round One, the suspect produced a firearm and exchanged gunfire. The suspect suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated; the officer was unharmed.
