Swift River Students Drinking Clean Water Again After PFAS6 Contamination

(New Salem, MA) New Salem and Wendell students at Swift River School can now drink water from the tap after using bottled water for nearly three years thanks to the school’s new filtration system. A water emergency had been declared in 2021 after testing showed high levels of PFAS6 contaminants, leaving the school to rely on costly bottled water and filters for drinking and cooking.
