(Springfield, MA) A Baystate Health official has confirmed that there are now three pediatric cases of COVID-19 in the Baystate Health System, where as previously there have been zero pediatric cases to date. The Baystate official noted that COVID-19 hospitalizations in children are still rare. In terms of Franklin County, the official said that the area does better than the other areas in Western Massachusetts. While pediatric cases are still rare, a condition called Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome, or MIS-C in children can cause hospitalization.
