AMHERST, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Trespass notices were issued to several people who were arrested during a pro-palestinian protest at UMass in May, causing further uproar around the incident.
The university released a statement claiming it is standard practice to issue trespass notices to unaffiliated individuals who are arrested on campus and that they were sent in error to some students and an employee.
Of the 130 individuals arrested on May 7th, 28 have agreed to a diversion program through the DA’s office.
