(undated) — Western Mass is expected to get a “taste of the tropics” today. Tropical Storm and Flash Flood warnings have been issued for the entire region as Tropical Storm Isaias winds its way up the east coast. Heavy rains and wind gusts of up to 60 miles an hour are possible with this storm, the worst of which is expected to hit between 4 and 10 tonight.
It could be a busy night for local utility crews, as the high winds from Isaias is expected to trigger some power outages in the area. Some basement flooding is also a possibility, as rainfall amounts of between two and six inches are expected before it all wraps up during the overnight hours on Wednesday.
