(Franklin County, MA) Many parts of Franklin County received nearly two inches of rain between Monday and Tuesday. Greenfield had just below two inches of rain, Shelburne had closer to one and a half inches, Montague also had around two inches, and Leverett saw about two and a half inches. Some parts saw even more, like New Salem with almost three and a half inches of total rainfall.

The rain came as relief in the ongoing drought, however the US Drought monitor has yet to provide an update on current conditions following the recent stormy weather. The monitor is updated weekly on Thursdays, and it is unclear as to whether tomorrow’s update will show any changes with this week’s rainfall. Greenfield, Montague, Sunderland, Shelburne, and Orange all remain under their current respective municipal water use restrictions.
