(Turners Falls, MA) *Update* The Turners Falls man, who was a victim of car jack failure when he was working underneath a vehicle on Tuesday morning, passed away Saturday evening. Dylan Lapointe was airlifted to Baystate Trauma Center in Springfield, but unfortunately he had gone too long without oxygen and passed away Saturday evening according to his mother, Debi Lapointe.

Dylan Lapointe was an organ donor and the life-saving donations were celebrated with the hospital’s “Honor Walk“, a ceremony where staff and loved ones line the walk through the hospital to the surgical unit.

A GoFundMe has been organized by Susan Cousineau to raise $10,000 for hospital expenses and a memorial for Dylan Lapointe.

Tuesday morning around 10 a.m. Turners Falls Police Department responded to a private residence where a vehicle had fallen on top of a man. The 30 year old Turners Falls man sustained life-threatening injuries. A LifeFlight had been called to airlift him to a hospital, but long with long wait times, he was instead taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center via ambulance and from there was airlifted to a trauma center.

According to the Turners Falls acting Deputy Fire Chief Kyle Cogswell, a bystander had been able to lift the car off of the patient before emergency units arrived. Along with Turners Falls Fire Department and the ambulance, Montague Police Department also responded to the incident. No current updates on the condition of the patient.
