(Turners Falls, MA) — Fire investigators are searching for the cause of a porch fire which damaged a Turnpike Road home. The call came in around noon reporting the fire at 90 Turnpike Road. A neighbor noticed the smoke and called 9-1-1. The fire was largely confined to a closed in front porch. The family inside the home was able to get out unhurt, while a neighbor worked to douse the flames with a fire extinguisher until fire crews arrived. No word yet on a damage estimate. The state Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
